Online use-case repository launced
Belmont Support
Services launches an online use-case repository at Gennaker Online. The service allows other business analyst to download or buy use-case of system functions. These functions are the common elements of systems that are repeated for almost every development.
A spokesperson for Belmont Support Services said "In an IT environment where reducing budgets and deliverying projects on-time are paramount is key. Having the ability to reuse common use-cases and code throughout all IT projects is a step in the right direction."
International Institute of Business Analysis
Similar to the PMI for Project Managers, the IIBA is an association whose "vision is to be the leading world-wide professional association that develops and maintains standards for the practice of business analysis and for the certification of practitioners."
Business Rules
As a concept, Business Rules are not new, to the Business or IT; what is new is the focus on separating them from other forms of documentation so they can better defined and managed. Business Rules are similar to Process Models/Maps in that they are subject to more frequent change than other aspects of the business, frequently enough that if rules are hard-coded in an Information System, the effort and elapsed time to change the system can be too large to be tolerated by the business over time.
